Bradley Spiegel
Bradley is an AICP Certified Planning Professional with a background in Urban, Rural, Regional, and Watershed Planning with an emphasis on outdoor recreation, resilience, and economic development. He is a Swannanoa resident and serves as the Vice Chair of Friends and Neighbors of Swannanoa (FANS) where he is deeply engaged in greenway planning & recreation network development.
In his previous role, he served as the Building Outdoor Communities Program Specialist for the Made By Mountains Partnership leading a multi-disciplinary regional planning process across Western North Carolina to help communities prioritize outdoor recreation infrastructure to drive economic development.
Before moving to Southern Appalachia, he spent a decade in New Orleans immersed in post-Hurricane Katrina green infrastructure planning and resilience efforts. He served as a Resilience Planning Specialist with Louisiana’s Office of Community Development - Louisiana Watershed Initiative, with a team implementing a $1.2 billion-dollar CDBG-Mitigation grant to advance regional watershed management and flood resilience across the state.
In his free time, he loves nothing more than hiking these beautiful mountains and hanging in his hammock.
